REWIND: 2014 FIFA WORLD CUP FINAL

Image
Would you believe me if I said this world cup was ten years ago on the 13th of July, well you probably wouldn't. In this blog were going to take a look at the matches that built up to Germanys 1-0 win over Argentina, Thanks to Mario Götze of course. GERMANY If  you ask me, Germany's 2014 world cup squad was one of the most dynamic and raw-talented teams we have seen in a good while, for one reason they had a team. That might not make sense but if you look at other teams, who have one or two good players you will see that they struggle, but when you look at Germany it had an entire roster of top tier players most of whom played together at club level.  Germanys squad for the world cup included: Manuel Neuer  Kevin Großkretz  Matthias Ginter  Benedikt Höwedes  Mats Hummels  Sami Kedira  Bastain Schweinsteiger  Mesut Özil  Andre Schürrle  Lucas Podolski  Miroslav Klose  Ron-Robert Zieler  Thomas Muller  Julia...

CRICKET HISTORY: SANDPAPERGATE

Image
Today is the first instalment of cricket history and iam going to cover quite a infamous event, Sandpapergate.  For those of you that don't know Sandpapergate was a ball tampering incident that involved Cameron Bancroft, Captain Steve Smith and David Warner. During a test match against South Africa in March of 2018, Cameron Bancroft was caught rubbing the match ball with a small yellow object. He was then seen stuffing said object into his trousers, when approached by the umpire he pulled out a dark microfiber sunglass pouch from his pocket. The umpires inspected the ball and concluded that it had not been noticeably tampered with. At the press conference at the end of the days play Bancroft, accompanied by Captain Steve Smith admitted that he was caught attempting to alter the condition of the ball using a short length of adhesive tape to which dirt and grit has adhered, forming and abrasive surface.  Five days later, after an investigation by Cricket Australia, Bancro...

DSK WOMEN'S TRAINING: WEEK 4 20/11/23

Image
This week was about fielding. The first game we played was really hard. So I made a diagram if you don’t understand my explanation!  Steps!!  You ( the yellow blob) stand in a square of 4 multi-coloured cones. The feeder( the second blob) tells you to run in to the middle. You follow their instruction and once you're in the middle the feeder tells you to run to a cone.  When you run to the cone, you run back to the middle and the feeder throws a ball to you and you  throw it back to them. I hope this explains it. lol. After that we did a simple throwing and catching drill. It wasn't too hard. At that point we did this drill where there was to nets and inside the nets was a set of stumps which had a coloured cone on them, the objective was simple, the ball was rolled out too you and all you had you had to do was attack the ball then the feeder called out a colour[ the colours of the cones in the stumps] and you had the throw it at the cone with the colour that...

DSK WOMENS TRAINING: WEEK 3 13/11/23

Image
This week we played a match between ourselves, my team was batting first  I defiantly was not trying to recreate Glenn Maxwell's innings against Afghanistan 👀   everything went ok, then when it was our turn to field. I got to bowl first and I think I did pretty good. My fielding wasn't very good though as I kept dropping the ball, so I defiantly need to keep practicing.    This week I had the pleasure of interviewing Neil Walsh, a well known figure in Dsk, and one of the coaches for the women's team training,  Question 1: What do you think of the women's team? "I think the women's teams great, there coming along fantastic, there doing a really good job at coming. There is plenty of commitment, we have had double figures every week so as long as they keep an interest in it. I am delighted to be taking it, even tonight there is a couple of girls that are taking about doing advanced coaching and all, to coach some of the younge...

ABSOLUTE SCENES FROM GLENN MAXWELL IN MUMBAI AFTER A SHOCK 3 WICKET WIN AGAIST AFGANISTAN!

Image
I'm sorry this took so long I was just in shock over this, Maxi I don't know how you did it.   Glenn Maxwell has produce in what my opinion was the greatest ODI inning's I have ever witnessed to rescue Australia from what appeared to be certain defeat and to steer them to victory by 3 wickets. After Mitchell Starc was dismissed to leave Australia with 91 for seven the Aussies face a with a 3% chance of winning, all hoped seemed lost when but then Glenn Maxwell stepped up to hit 201 not out from only 128 balls - including 10 sixes - all while having full body cramps.  This is what skipper Pat Cummins had to say: " Ridiculous. Don't know how to describe it. Great win! It has got to be the greatest thing that has ever happened. One of those days people will say yeah, I was at the stadium for this game. He always had a plan. Even from 200 behind to be able to win the game that way, it was really special. It is important to remember you can win from anywhere. Real belie...
