ABSOLUTE SCENES FROM GLENN MAXWELL IN MUMBAI AFTER A SHOCK 3 WICKET WIN AGAIST AFGANISTAN!

I'm sorry this took so long I was just in shock over this, Maxi I don't know how you did it.  


Glenn Maxwell has produce in what my opinion was the greatest ODI inning's I have ever witnessed to rescue Australia from what appeared to be certain defeat and to steer them to victory by 3 wickets. After Mitchell Starc was dismissed to leave Australia with 91 for seven the Aussies face a with a 3% chance of winning, all hoped seemed lost when but then Glenn Maxwell stepped up to hit 201 not out from only 128 balls - including 10 sixes - all while having full body cramps. 


This is what skipper Pat Cummins had to say:

" Ridiculous. Don't know how to describe it. Great win! It has got to be the greatest thing that has ever happened. One of those days people will say yeah, I was at the stadium for this game. He always had a plan. Even from 200 behind to be able to win the game that way, it was really special. It is important to remember you can win from anywhere. Real belief in the team and we are in the semi-finals now, that's great."

This is what the man of the match Glenn Maxwell had to say:

" It was obviously quite hot when we were fielding today. I haven't really done a whole lot of high intensity exercise in the heat and it certainly got a hold of me today and just luckily enough we came out with a plan to stay at the same end for a little bit until I could sort of get some movement back, luckily enough I was able to stay till the end. It was basically to stick to our batting plan. I suppose for me it was still trying to be positive, still trying to take them on and trying to produce bad balls or something else I could score off. Even with the lbw, that was just going over the top, that was probably the kick-start I needed to sort of tell myself to start playing my shots and be a bit more proactive. I think you obviously saw a little bit more swing and nip around under lights as it always happened throughout this tournament. Credit to them, they bowled absolutely beautifully upfront and put us on the back foot. What we struggled to do was take early wickets and put them under pressure, but credit to them, they bowled really well upfront. I feel like I had those types of innings before where I was given the chance and I haven't made the most of it so to make the most of it is probably the most pleasing thing, to be not out with Patty at the end is something I am really proud of."

CRICKET HISTORY: SANDPAPERGATE

  Today is the first instalment of cricket history and iam going to cover quite a infamous event, Sandpapergate.  For those of you that don't know Sandpapergate was a ball tampering incident that involved Cameron Bancroft, Captain Steve Smith and David Warner. During a test match against South Africa in March of 2018, Cameron Bancroft was caught rubbing the match ball with a small yellow object. He was then seen stuffing said object into his trousers, when approached by the umpire he pulled out a dark microfiber sunglass pouch from his pocket. The umpires inspected the ball and concluded that it had not been noticeably tampered with. THE AUSSIES EMERGE VICTORIOUS OVER PAKISTAN

 Australia beat Pakistan by 62 runs yesterday, which earns them there second win in the world cup which happens to move them up into fourth behind South Africa and ahead of New Zealand. The Aussies have started the world cup campaign by losing to India by 6 wickets and South Africa 134 runs. They redeemed themselves by beating Sri Lanka by 5 wickets and Pakistan by 62 runs. This is what Australia's captain, Pat Cummins had to say:  "That was great. Pretty tough playing here but good to get a win. Proper from the openers, it set the tone and we want to take the game on like that. The key in ODIs [one day internationals] is to carry on. You get on breakthrough and it looks tough for the next guy. Batting for long like our openers did, was great. Zampa has been awesome. Showed his class, he's a wicket taker .
