DSK WOMENS TRAINING: WEEK 3 13/11/23

This week we played a match between ourselves, my team was batting first I defiantly was not trying to recreate Glenn Maxwell's innings against Afghanistan 👀  everything went ok, then when it was our turn to field. I got to bowl first and I think I did pretty good. My fielding wasn't very good though as I kept dropping the ball, so I defiantly need to keep practicing.

This week I had the pleasure of interviewing Neil Walsh, a well known figure in Dsk, and one of the coaches for the women's team training,

Question 1: What do you think of the women's team?

"I think the women's teams great, there coming along fantastic, there doing a really good job at coming. There is plenty of commitment, we have had double figures every week so as long as they keep an interest in it. I am delighted to be taking it, even tonight there is a couple of girls that are taking about doing advanced coaching and all, to coach some of the younger ones coming thought in the summer so that really good to hear. So iam absolutely delighted."

Question 2: Do enjoy cricket?

"I love Cricket, but I love to see the enjoyment from others as well, especially with our youth, women's and senior men's who are doing very well at the moment, so I have a great passion for the game"

Question 3: How far do you think cricket in Drumaness can go in the Future?

"Well that's really up too the interest, if are youth keeps coming through and there a desire too keep preforming at that, and our women as well, hoping too put in at least a couple of women's teams over the next few years an then are younger girls an ladies coming through that age group as well. That's the aim to get the ladies, men's and the youth all sort of synced into one club."

Question 4: Would you recommend it someone who has never played before?

"I would because Cricket, there's this sort of stigma about cricket that you know its a boring game, that everybody runs around in whites and stuff like that as you can see, we have got coloured clothing, our game is very active  in terms of fielding, bowling and batting, its high energy stuff you and it keeps you fit, so absolutely."
